EcoMax

The need for sustainable cities and infrastructure is more critical than ever, given the pressing issues of air pollution, climate change, and urbanization. Currently, over 50% of the global population lives in cities, and by 2050, that number is expected to rise to 70%. (UNEP - UN Environment Programme). Cities are responsible for more than 70% of global CO2 emissions, driving the need for rapid decarbonization and sustainable planning(IEA). Urban air pollution alone leads to approximately 4.2 million deaths annually, with particulate matter (PM2.5) being a major contributor to respiratory and cardiovascular diseases(UNSD).
I am the co-founder of EcoMax, a company that addresses the critical environmental issue of soot pollution, a byproduct of industrial processes like those in petroleum refineries and steel mills. Every year, millions of tonnes of soot (including harmful PM2.5 particles) are released into the atmosphere or washed into water bodies, severely affecting air quality and public health. EcoMax captures this soot from factory chimneys and converts it into sustainable ink. The ink, made from carbon black derived from soot, is treated with alcohol instead of traditional petroleum-based oils, making the production process more environmentally friendly. This innovative approach mitigates air pollution and provides a product that can be used for painting, printing, and other commercial applications. By transforming industrial waste into a useful commodity, EcoMax contributes to a more sustainable economy and a cleaner environment.

My company collaborated with two factories in the Jaipur Industrial Area to collectively prevent 5000 lbs or 2.3 tonnes of carbon from leaking into the environment. Find the letter of recognition here.
